Started as a terminal multiplexer. Got carried away. Now it’s closer to a micro operating system — file explorer, notes editor, agent hooks, app runtime/SDK, notifications, and probably more I’m forgetting. Built in Rust.

Install

macOS (Apple Silicon; Intel when published)

Downloads the matching current macOS stable release. Requires bash, curl, tar, and shasum, not Git, Rust, a package manager, or administrator access.

curl -fsSL https://plexiapp.com/install | bash

The installer selects the matching macOS archive. If the selected channel has no Intel archive, it stops with a clear missing-asset error; from a checkout, build with Rust, just, uv and Python 3.11 using scripts/install.sh --from-source alpha. It verifies the release archive’s SHA-256 checksum before installing it.
