OpenTRIM

A C++ Monte-Carlo code for simulating ion transport in materials with an emphasis on calculation of radiation damage.

OpenTRIM offers the following components:

  • opentrim-gui: A GUI tool to configure, run and evaluate simulations
  • opentrim: A command line program for batch mode
  • libopentrim: A C++ library with all the ion transport code, which can be linked to external applications
  • Python and Octave bindings to configure, run and evaluate simulations in these computing environments

Additionally, the following sub-projects are used internally

  • screened_coulomb: A header-only C++ library for screened Coulomb scattering calculations with various potentials (ZBL, Moliere, etc)
  • libdedx: A compilation of different parametrizations for the electronic stopping of ions in matter
