Offdesk Dev — self-hosted remote terminal for tmux and AI coding agents

One terminal, shared by you and your agents. Agents open, type into and read terminals through the offdesk CLI; you watch the same terminals from your phone and take the keyboard when they need you.

Access Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or any terminal program from a browser, iPhone, Android phone, or desktop app. Offdesk connects clients to persistent tmux sessions on your own macOS and Linux machines through one self-hosted Hub. Commands run on the remote machine; clients stream terminal input and output over WebSocket connections.

The app installs as Offdesk Dev; this README calls the project Offdesk for short. The command-line tools keep the offdesk name: the offdesk CLI, the offdesk-hub server and the offdesk-node machine agent.

Use it to check an AI coding agent from your phone, resume a shell after a network disconnect, or manage terminals on a Mac, Linux server, NAS, and VPS from one interface. The machines running your Hub and sessions must stay online.

  • Persistent remote sessions: reconnect to the same tmux terminal, including interactive CLIs, editors, build…
